There are so many amazing places to eat here in St Augustine. Here are a few of our family's favorites restaurants.
On Island
Mango Mangos
Mango Mangos is the perfect place to grab some great food and a drink. This Caribbean & American bites spot has a daily happy hour. It is an island-style bar/grill a block from the beach. Offering both indoor and outdoor dining. They also do takeout. We love the tacos and fresh salads.
The Beachcomber
If you are looking to grab a bite right on the beach look no further. The Beachcomber is a relaxed casual waterfront cafe offering for breakfast, lunch & dinner served indoors or at duneside picnic tables. This is a perfect place to grab an ice cold beer, order some appetizers and take in the ocean breeze.
Kookaburra Cafe
The Kookaburra is an Australian-American coffee shop serving specialty coffee, espresso, and Aussie pies. This is a great place to go if you are looking for a great cup of coffee and a snack. There is also a workspace if you need to head somewhere quiet to take a meeting.
The Conch House
The Conch House is located on the water. It is a caribbean-style seafood and steak restaurant. Offering fun drinks in a sea-themed setting with a bar, lounge & outdoor patio.
Odd Birds
Odd Birds is a trendy watering hole with a cool vibe crafting innovative cocktails & eclectic small plates. We love their fish tacos for lunch. They are also one of the only places on the island offering late night food, open till 2AM.
Osprey Taco + Old Coast Ales Brewery
Counter-service ordering featuring an array of tacos with outdoor picnic tables & vibrant interiors. Old Coast Ales is located directly next door. This is a great casual place to grab a taco and a beer.
Downtown
Prohibition Kitchen
Prohibition is located in Downtown St Augustine right on St George Street. It is a Spacious, retro-chic watering hole offering cocktails, gourmet pub grub & live entertainment.
The Floridian
The Floridian is our absolute favorite restaurant in Downtown St Augustine. It is a lovely, charming place with a lot of character. The food is amazing. It has a modern menu of locally sourced Southern grub, including plentiful vegan options, amid kitschy decor.
The Ice Plant
The Ice Plant is also located in Downtown St Augustine. Set in a 1927 industrial building, this eatery offers locally sourced dishes & seasonal cocktails. Brunch is offered on weekends.
For the Ice Plant and The Floridian I would call ahead to make a reservation. Both restaurants can book out especially on weekends.
Vilano Beach
Cap’s on The Water
There aren’t enough good things to say about Cap’s. Sunset views from the wooden deck, an oyster bar & local seafood are just a few highlights at this waterfront spot. It is a little bit of a drive, located on Vilano Beach. This is one restaurant you don’t want to miss. It can be a little tricky to find so I recommend using google maps or a phone gps. They do not take reservations so be sure to get there early and grab a drink from the bar while you wait for your table.
